Club Training Sessions
Thinking of joining the Club? Want to find out what’s going on? Why not come along to one of our training sessions?
A weekly ‘news update’ detailing all our training activities is sent to club members via email, if you would like more details, please contact us.
Swimming
Swim coaching takes place from 4.30 until 5.30pm on Saturdays at the Aubigny Centre, Haddington. The whole pool is dedicated to the club during this time with swimmers placed in a lane according to their speed and ability. Our coach uses club equipment (paddles, pull buoys, fins to name but a few!) and plenty of drills to improve technique and endurance.
Coaching is also offered at the North Berwick Sports Centre on Wednesdays from 7.30 until 8.30pm.
During the summer months (roughly following the school holidays), club swim training sessions move from the pool to open water, and members meet at Gullane beach on a Saturday afternoon.
All Tri Club swimmers are also welcomed at The Mercait Gate Centre, Prestonpans for the Masters Club Swim session on Mondays from 8pm. There are three lanes for swimmers and coaching is given on all the strokes, tumble turns and much more. (There is a small separate membership fee involved.)
Cycling
Club Turbo sessions are held at 8pm on Wednesdays in Aberlady. The
sessions are coached by Alan who aims to help improve your cycle
efficiency, speed, power and endurance. The club has its own turbo
trainers so all you need to bring is your bike, towel and water-bottle.
Tri Club members are also welcome to join the cycle group leaving
from Law Cycles in North Berwick at 8am every Sunday morning. The
group is aiming to cater for all, and will follow a flat course
for 20 miles – those who want to go on will then find some hills.
In the summer months time trials are organised, enabling members to work on their speed in a friendly, competitive environment.
Running
Run sessions are held at 6.30pm at Meadowmill Sports Centre, Prestonpans. Coached by Tom of HELP, the sessions include drills, sprints, relays, and pyramids. The sessions take place on and around the rugby pitch enabling runners of all abilities to develop their running fitness whilst training together in a safe, friendly environment.
